Metaphorical sweat ran down her brow. Furrowed. She sat hunched over her desk in such a way that no one could quite tell what she feverishly labored away at. She mumbled to herself, “But what is the IDEA?!…Hmm…no, it’s not that...maybe it’s that...yeah…that’s it…that’s definitely it…let’s go with that…” Curious onlookers watched excitedly from a distance behind her, afraid to interrupt the process. Tension and anticipation hung heavy in the air, everyone eager for her to produce a masterpiece.
So. Much. Pressure.
Hours passed. And then, finally, she leaned back from her desk and said to herself,
She closed her laptop and thought about how fucking dumb captialism is.
Hi, my name is Justine and I make ads. More specifically, I’m a creative with a background in art direction and design. Even more specifically, I’m an Associate Creative Director at Kamp Grizzly living in Portland, Oregon. And to address the elephant in the room, no, I don’t totally hate advertising, as I do enjoy finding ways to use my evil “buy-this-thing” marketing manipulation powers for good. Or at least to make people laugh.
I’ve won some awards for my work and have had the pleasure of partnering with some pretty amazing brands and people.
When I’m not doing the ad thing, I sleep, read, hike, camp, ride motorcycles on dirt roads, cook, play with clay, watch movies, and do crosswords.
And, yes, I did remove my partner from the above photo. I love him very much, but this is a professional website, afterall.
